1. About us / contact

All of our contact information can be found on our ‘contact page’.

2. Status

By placing an order via our site (www.calatech.co.uk) you warrant that;

(i) You are legally capable of entering into binding contracts;

(ii) You are a resident here in the UK;

(iii) You are accessing our site from the UK;

(iiii) When you register with Calatech, you will need to choose a contact email address and password. You are responsible for all sessions and transactions taken under these details. You should not disclose or provide to anyone else with access to your password or login details. If for any reason you believe that your account, login details or password(s) have been compromised please change these details immediately.

3. Delivery

  • We offer next working day delivery on all devices excluding Saturdays and Sundays. This is via Royal Mail 1st Class Signed for or Special Delivery and is fully tracked and insured. Special Delivery is also guaranteed by 1pm on the day of delivery.

  • We only post to UK addresses.

  • We can only post orders to the billing address unless valid photo ID can be provided. If shipping and billing address do not match, we will be in touch to request a copy of your photographic ID. If you cannot provide this we will only be able to ship to the billing address.

  • Any orders placed before 2PM on weekdays Monday to Friday will be posted the same day. For orders placed after 2PM on a Friday your order will be posted on the following working day (Monday)

4. Warranty Policy

(i) All devices are sold with the number of day(s) warranty that is mentioned in the description/information of the purchased device. This is usually 12 Months for all fully working graded smartphones, tablets and apple watches.

(ii) Minor Fault devices are sold with a 14 day warranty.

(iii) The Warranty will only cover manufacturer faults and will not be valid for any of the following;

  • Damage by water or any form of liquid.

  • Faults or damage caused by general wear and tear e.g battery health depreciating or scratches to the screen/back/edges.

  • Damage caused by attempting to repair or change parts of the device by yourself or a third party including jailbreaking and unlocking.

  • Improper use of accessories.

  • Damage caused by dropping the product or intentional mistreatment

  • Accidental or intentional damage to the product.

(iiii) These terms and conditions outline what is covered should you need to claim under the warranty.

  • We cover you for a minimum of 30 days in line with the consumer protection act 2015. If you find your device to be unfortunately faulty then you can return your device for either a full refund, repair or exchange. From day 31 you will be covered for repairs only.

  • We cover for any malfunctions with your device that may occur within the first 12 Months depending on the model purchased.

  • To claim, please contact us within this period via email, phone call or facebook message.

  • The device will need to be checked over by ourselves or repairers to confirm the fault. Any iCloud/google account and/or passcodes must also be removed before we can accept the exchange or return.

  • Exchanges will be like for like where stock is available, or you can choose an upgraded model and pay the difference in cost.

  • Under this warranty, we cannot cover you for accidental damage, water damage or any kind of damage which has been inflicted by you or any other users.

  • We also don’t cover for change of mind after the initial 14 day period.

  • If you attempt to repair the device yourself, this warranty will be void.

  • By purchasing through ourselves you agree with the above terms which are in line with the Consumer Protection Act 2015.

    5. Battery Capacity

  • Every device that comes through us will have the battery checked to make sure it is over 80/85% health depending on the selected grading (Pristine, Excellent, Good & Fair). Any device that has significant battery drain or is below 80% health will have the battery replaced.

  • Newer devices may show a battery message and may or may not show the battery health in settings. However this will be mentioned on the listing of the device and it will tell you if the device you are buying has a new battery fitted.

  • If you’d like to buy a particular device and you would like the battery replaced anyway, please get in touch and we can do this for a small charge.

    6. Returns Policy

  • In the event you would like to return your device due to change of mind, we provide a 14 day cooling off period (please see terms and conditions for this). For warranty claims, the below also applies up to 12 Months, depending on the device purchased (please see our warranty terms and conditions for full details).

  • Please get in touch via email, Facebook or phone to let us know you wish to return your device and we can provide the address to send it back via your own postal method, at your own cost.

  • We do recommend using a postal service which fully insures the package up to the correct device value.

  • Please note, we can not be responsible for any damaged caused in transit back to us, so make sure to package the device sufficiently to avoid this.

  • We can also not be held responsible for loss of the item whilst in transit.

  • Please also note, we will refund the cost of your device however, postage charges may not be refunded.

7. Payments and Pricing

  • Payments can be made in full with either a debit or credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay or Cash.

  • The price of any products will be as quoted on our site, except in cases of obvious error.

  • Prices are liable to change at any time, but changes will not affect orders in respect of which we have already sent you a Dispatch Confirmation.

  • Our site contains a large number of products and it is always possible that, despite our best efforts, some of those listed on our site may be incorrectly priced. We are under no obligation to provide the item to you at the incorrect (lower) price if the pricing error is obvious and unmistakable and could have reasonably been recognised by you as a miss-pricing.

8. Cancellations

  • If you have changed your mind and wish to cancel your order, please get in touch. If your device has not yet been dispatched, we can cancel your order straight away and refund your payment.

  • If we have already dispatched your item and you wish to cancel, you have 14 days to return the item to us in the same condition you received it. This must be done at your cost. Once we have received your device back to us, we will then issue your refund. (Please note; we do not refund postage charges).

  • Your device must return in the same condition it was sent i.e no damage or personalisation, and battery health (where applicable) must be over 80%. If there is any excessive use of the device in the 14 day cooling off period, we may charge a restocking fee to cover the cost in returning the device to its original state.

9. Our Liabilities

  • We warrant to you that any product purchased from us or through our site is of satisfactory quality and reasonably fit for all the purposes for which products of the kind are commonly supplied.

  • Our liability for losses you may or may not suffer as a result of us breaking this agreement is strictly limited to the purchase price of the product you purchased and any losses which are a foreseeable consequence of us breaking the agreement. Losses are foreseeable where they could be contemplated by you and us at the time your order is accepted by us.

  • This does not include and or limit in any way our liability: (a) For death or personal injury caused by our negligence;(b) Under section 2(3) of the Consumer Protection Act 1987; (c) For fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (d) For any matter for which it would be illegal for us to exclude, or attempt to exclude, our liability.

  • We are not responsible for any indirect losses which happen as a side effect of the main loss or damage and which are not foreseeable by you and us (such as loss of income or revenue, loss of business, loss of profits or contracts, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data, waste of management or office time) however arising and whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract or otherwise, even if foreseeable.

Sell My Tech - Terms & Condition’s

When filling out our sell form to receive a quote, please note this is not set in stone. This quote will be as per the details you have provided.

  • The price we will pay you for your device will be finalised once we have your device in hand & it has been fully checked and tested to make sure it matches the grade and details you provided us with. If not, we will revise our offer accordingly.

Please remove all personal data from the device you are sending including iCloud/Google accounts. We are not responsible for your personal data. Where possible we will wipe all data before evaluating the device.

  • All sim and memory cards must be removed from the device before sending to us. Any SIM cards or memory cards we receive will be destroyed and we are not liable for any costs for you to replace these.

  • Please make sure any contracts involving your device has been terminated prior to sending your device. Failure to make payments on any contracts results in your device being blacklisted.

  • If your device is of a higher value, and still linked to an ongoing contract we may require a form of ID before any amount is paid to protect us in the event of a device being blacklisted or any type of fraud. If a device is flagged as lost or stolen either before or after the amount is paid, we will pass the relevant details and information over to the relevant authorities.

  • Please make sure there are no pins or passwords still registered on the device.

  • We cannot accept any devices blacklisted due to them being reported as lost or stolen.

  • If a device is received with passcode/screen locks, we will contact you to try and get these removed.

  • Please make sure you have graded the handset as best as you can according to our categories and descriptions. While we endeavour to pay the price quoted at the time of the order; this price will be adjusted for any major discrepancies.

  • If you choose to send in a device for us to quote - we will test, check and quote accordingly for you to accept or reject.

  • Should you reject the quote we will return the device to you, tracked, free of charge.

  • If anything happens to the device in transit during its return to you, we will cover the device up to the value we quoted after inspection.

  • You are responsible for any damage, loss, or delays in transit when you are sending your device to us.

  • We accept original boxes, chargers and accessories, however this does not increase the value of the device and we may not be able to return it.

  • We reserve the right to reject any device if it is not acceptable. If we choose not to buy your device, we will contact you. You can ask us to return it or we can recycle it. If we don’t not hear from you within 30 working days, we may automatically recycle the device.

When placing an order to sell your device you confirm that:

You are a UK resident

  • You are 18 years or over

  • You are able to enter into a binding contract

  • We are not responsible for any liabilities or claims resulting due to a breach in any of these conditions

  • You are the owner of the device

  • If the device is under 6 months old and/or on contract, you need to ensure you are allowed to sell the device and any payments must be kept up.

  • If a device becomes ‘blacklisted’ or marked as ‘lost or stolen’ after being sold to us, we will contact you to resolve this. We take fraud very seriously and we will take appropriate legal action if necessary.

Getting your device to us:

We recommend you send your device to us via Royal Mail Special Delivery (you pay the cost). This will ensure your device is covered and insured up to the value of £500 with the option to upgrade to £1000 for an additional cost if necessary.

  • We cannot be responsible for any device not received or that are damaged in transit.

  • Your device must be received within 14 days of submitting your sell / trade in request.

  • If you are local we may arrange to collect the device personally, potentially same day.

Payment for your device:

When sending us a fully working device, we aim to process your payment the same day the device is received. However we allow up to 24 hours.

  • When sending us a faulty device, this time scale may be slightly higher as we need to check the exact faults with the device. We endeavour to get payments made within 1-3 working days for these devices, however it may be sooner.

  • Payments can be made via BACs payment or via PayPal. Once the method has been chosen, this cannot be changed.

  • Please ensure you provide the correct bank details/PayPal information. If you provide incorrect details and do not inform us before the payment is processed, we do not accept liability for this – payments cannot be recalled.

  • Once we have paid you for the device, the ownership of the device passes on to us.

  • We cannot be held responsible for delays in payments due to third parties.

    Rejected Devices

  • If you reject an amended offer for your order we will return your device/s. Please allow 1-2 working days for this. If the attempt is failed you the customer must contact Calatech to arrange a delivery at your own cost. If there is no contact for 14 days we will automatically process your payment at the amended price.


Liability:

We cannot be held liable for any unforeseeable loss or damage caused to you or any third party. Nothing in our terms and conditions limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, misrepresentation or any other liability which cannot be legally excluded or limited.
